Re: Warming fermenter options
Well after just 2 hours with a king sized heating pad wrapped on the carboy and on med heat (pad has a 2 hour timer) temp has raised almost 8 degrees, from 56 to 64, and fermentation has increased. going to keep an eye on it and keep posted

Dogfish Head
Last weekend I got the opportunity to go to both the Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, DE, and the Dogfish Brewings and Eats in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Both were a great experience and a lot of fun. Brewery: Milton, DE Brewery tour was a pretty standard tour with the history of the brewery and it's evolut...

Re: Brewing April 4
lee,
yeah, 3# honey added to the boil, and in the true spirit of the Can I Borrow... Brewery, jeff was nice enough to lend us a pack of Wyeast 9093 Imperial Blend. Just going into cooling now, hit 1.097 so feel pretty good about that as long as it's bubbling tomorrow

Portland, OR trip
Just got back from Portland OR on Thurs. While I was there I visited several brewpubs and two breweries. Short Synopsis of some of this: New Old Lompoc, 5th Quadrant: Had the C-Note IPA which was a 100 IBU beer, actually was a pretty nice balance considering that It has pretty much every hop that st...
