so far it has worked well, keeping beer at 68-72 depending on how much I check to auto off and turn it on, I have been happy with the results so far

Well after just 2 hours with a king sized heating pad wrapped on the carboy and on med heat (pad has a 2 hour timer) temp has raised almost 8 degrees, from 56 to 64, and fermentation has increased. going to keep an eye on it and keep posted

yeah, 3# honey added to the boil, and in the true spirit of the Can I Borrow... Brewery, jeff was nice enough to lend us a pack of Wyeast 9093 Imperial Blend. Just going into cooling now, hit 1.097 so feel pretty good about that as long as it's bubbling tomorrow :D

not the first time i've heard of using the malto goya, has anyone done this and is there any feedback on the method, I'm sure its not probably the greatest but does it work well in a pinch?
