Equipment for auction
Recently I've been alerted to the existence of several beer-related items on http://www.equip-bid.com. A quick search for the word "keg" today reveals not only kegs but some kegerators, and a Perlick 6-tap tower. I'm not in the market for any of that at this time, but it might be a worthwh...

Re: Interesting Brewing Articles
I've been trying to brew a good chocolate beer for years now. Yesterday I went to buy a 6 pack and came away with this.. My chocolate cravings were completely sated! If you're a fan, you will want to try http://www.boulderbeer.com/distributor-support/shake-chocolate-porter I had Ommegang's "Ch...

Oh man, that would most certainly suck. Good eye on that photo, Matt. To add to Matt's grumblings: Another thing that sucks - and I have done this on more than one occasion - is when you install a freshly cleaned faucet, hook it up to a keg, and receive the unpleasant greeting of instant beer flow. ...

Great! I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.Phoenix wrote:Armor All® Gel
Gobb it on and wrap it in a trash bag to keep it from drying out. Leave it for a few days. Works great!
I've used it to transform old rock-hard windshield gaskets for re-use.

I have a kegerator; I posted a photo of my setup on the Guild's Facebook page. It was posted back on January 28th so you'll have to scroll down a while to find it. It's a side by side fridge with custom shelves that are covered in galvanized steel.

Rubber conditioner
The kegs I own were well-used (loved?) when I bought them, so every time I wash or handle them the rubber tends to blacken...everything. Can someone recommend a good product for conditioning the rubber?

Duvel buys Boulevard
A coworker alerted me to a NY Times article about Duvel buying Boulevard. Not sure if this'll work, but here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/18/busin ... hyGF3w6AXA

Did you use the corn sugar straight up or did you make a simple syrup with it first?

Re: Keg O-rings
Frank - Thanks for the offer. I need to get a supply of spare o-rings for all of my kegs such so that I don't get in this predicament again. But since I brew with Rob and he has o-rings...
Rob - I'll get some dip tube o-rings from you when we keg. Thanks!

Keg O-rings
I disassembled some kegs this evening to clean in advance of kegging on Tuesday (6/18) evening and found that one of the dip tube o-rings is damaged. Does anybody have some I can buy? If you have a collection of other keg o-rings available, I'd be interested in buying more, even poppet valves. If it...

Re: Woes with leaks and aeration
I found the culprit(s). I changed out the o-ring dip tubes and now there are no more leaks. I think I was not able to get enough StarSan shot up underneath the posts and that is why I could not see any bubbles.
While I was at it, I changed the lid's o-ring, too.

Re: Woes with leaks and aeration
I tried two different quick disconnects, each with its own picnic tap attached. One of the QD-PT units was being used without issue on a different keg. The same problem manifested itself with each unit.Matt wrote:And you're sure it's not the QD that's got a bad gasket or something?

Woes with leaks and aeration
I am having a problem with one of my kegs. It is a pin lock keg; I bought it (used) near the end of last year. It was holding pressure when I bought it and I did not take it apart for several months. At that time, it was still holding pressure. After a thorough cleaning and sanitizing I filled it wi...
