Stirbars (Egg-shaped) and possibly 4000 mL flasks
As I mentioned in the May meeting, I bought several (thirty actaully) stirbars off of e-bay. When I receive them, I think I will keep a whole set for myself; so below is what I (should) have extra, as well as the price I'm asking for each: 4 - Egg-Shaped Stir Bars (2.0 cm x 0.8 cm) @ $1.00 each 4 - ...

Re: Flasks, Stir Bars, Vanilla Beans, & Cinnamon Sticks
Hey. Just updating this. We still have cinnamon sticks, but everything else is sold for now. I'm considering placing an order for stirbars. I was thinking about trying the football shaped ones as they are supposed to be quieter. So we still have: 6 - First Quality Pure ALBA Cinnamon Sticks Organic-S...

Re: Low attenuation and/or O2 stones
I think Andy is right, the problem could be wort composition, because it sounds to me like you're getting enough O2 into the wort for the OG's you're fermenting. Assuming fermentation temps are adequate. Are you using mash stabilizer (5.2)? You might check the thermometers like Andy suggested. jim ...

Re: Does anyone have a 10lb CO2 tank I can borrow?
If your thinking about kegging your beer, you should really think about investing in a CO2 cylinder and a regulator. I assume you will also need simple serving hardware as well, such as the quick-disconnects, beer and gas lines, and a picnic tap? As far as sealing the keg, if you lube the large lid ...

Re: Does anyone have a 10lb CO2 tank I can borrow?
I think you should probably look at a 5 lb. cylinder or a 20 lb. cylinder, as the 10 lb. cylinders are not very common. The 5 lb. cylinder is small and portable (although I don't think the 20 lb. cylinders are bad as far as portability). The 20 lb. cylinders are a lot more cost effective to get fill...

Re: need yeast
...we decidded to go to Baccus and Barleycorn... I find it disturbing that they store their powered yeast at room temperature. I usually keep some 04 on hand should the need arise again. Do you rehydrate it, or sprinkle it right on the wort? When I use dry yeast, I rehydrate it for 15-30 min before...

Re: 20 lb. CO2 Cylinders
All of the CO2 cylinders are spoken for now. I'll post here if somebody changes their mind.
I'm thinking around $100 per cylinder. Does this sound fair? Praxair values empty (20 lb.) cylinders at $156. Also remember that these are filled and ready to go.

20 lb. CO2 Cylinders
I have six 20 lb. CO2 cylinders that I am looking to get rid of. I have not decided on a price yet, but I am going to try to make it a decent deal for guild members. I have already traded in 5 of the cylinders, so they are full and ready to go. The sixth cylinder was still mostly full, so I didn't s...
