Re: So I want to buy a mill...

I have a Barley Crusher and it does not have detents, but mine is about 7-8 years old. The newer ones may have detents.

Court Avenue is one of my favorite places in Des Moines, along with The Royal Mile just around the corner.

We went to 23rd Street this past Saturday evening. First time since Bucky started brewing there. I had the Crimson Phog (Irish Red Ale) and it was quite good. I have to agree with 'JamesonHuckaba' about their pastas. I had the cajun pasta (hot of course) and it was very nice.

One word..."Sankey".........[evil laugh here]

Well, I was actually looking at the LUBECON 6D controller for lubricator. It may come in handy when I'm on the turnpike and need some change for the toll booth.

Coopersmith in Fort Collins, CO; Court Avenue Brewing in Des Moines, IA; Blind Tiger in Topeka to na...

so you are saying that a thicker mash results in a higher malt profile than a thinner mash?
How does this work?
That's the general theory. How does it work? Hm, well I'd have to dig the books out again for that answer.

I've always done 1.2 to 1.5 quarts per pound rounded up to the nearest 1/2 gallon. I did that when I was doing infusion mashing and on the RIMS with a pump. The thicker ratio is for the more malt accentuated beers.

Maybe this is why Budweiser started specifying specific CO2's for their taps. Just a thought.

Thank you. Thank you. The story behind the name "Leap Second". We brewed the beer to commemorate the 23rd leap second which happened December 31, 2005 (how's that for "geekness"??). The plan was to age it until the next leap second. Well when they started talking about doing away...
