Re: Henry T's opening a brewery.....(My thoughts)

I don't remember barnyard, all I can say is I wish them the best of luck. It would be nice to have another good brewery in town so here's hoping. I don't understand what he means by his plan to make better or identical bear and charge less. Is he talking about Freestate or just craft beer in general...

Buying carboys!

Holler if you got em. Edit: No longer need any. I found LindsySpring in Topeka will sell 5 gallon glass carboys for $20 empty or $15 with water (and another $13 for the water) They gave my dad trouble when he went to go pick up an empty one for me but they assured me it wouldn't be a problem in the ...

Needing misc keg supplies

I'm setting up my first kegerator this weekend (hopfully) and I picked up my order from foxx supplies today. But for whatever reason two pieces of equipment didn't save to my cart and I'm missing them. I'm hoping somebody has these as extra parts laying around so I don't have to wait until Monday to...

Re: kegerator setup

Best thing that I ever did was get tap handles for the outside of the fridge and drill holes in the side for mounting. Cobra taps are a mess. And with them inside the refrigerator, the inside of the refrigerator becomes a mess. Drilled a hole in the other side to bring the gas into the refrigerator...

Re: kegerator setup

Thanks for the info! Do you plan on storing the gas cylinder inside the refrigerator? If so there's no reason to have a "primary" reg attached to the bottle then 2 "secondary" regs. This set up is about $30 more then it needs to be. Yeah I just bought a giant tank (I think its 50...

Re: kegerator setup

Awesome, here is what I've come up with so far. All I am missing is the tubing. I'm not sure which tubing and parts to buy in order to connect my regulator and couplers. Can anyone help with this?

kegerator setup

Can someone explain kegerator parts to me like I'm 5? I have a fridge and a c02 tank. But I'm not really sure what to get when it comes to regulators and hoses. I know I want a regulator or a chain of them that can put out multiple different PSIs so I can serve and carbonate kegs off of the same tan...

I just stopped into the new store in OP called the BrewLab http://www.brewlabkc.com/ I spoke breifly with the owner and he was open to the idea of giving us a discount. I told him somebody from the guild would reach out to him.

Sell me your old keg stuff

Looking to get started on a basic kit. Regulator, tank, ball keg, picnic faucet, etc. Looks like I can get it all for about $220 or so online. But I'm not in a hurry so I figured I would check here first.

Still not a fan of smoked beers, but your idea in using them in Cheddar soup is great! That german one especially would be good.

Re: questions about cider and retail stores

Thanks for the reply guys, I actually ended up taking a trip up to Rees Fruit Farm in Topeka. They sell cider without preservatives if you buy from them directly. They UV pasteurize too so their cider isn't cloudy like Louisburg's.
