Re: Jock Box Questions...
Good job, Monte, sounds like you came to the most reasonable solution! Your other solutions, jockey box, etc. would have cost you more in the long run anyway and would probably not have been optimal. Joe I agree Joe. This solution (while putting me further into debt) did seem to be the most logical...

Re: Jock Box Questions...
After a long night of research, the one thing I found out about Jockey Boxes was that the keg has to also be cold or the foam would overwhelm the pouring. That is not a good thing. So I applied for PayPal Credit that gives me 6 months to pay off charges with no interest. So I ordered a nice kegerato...

Jock Box Questions...
Ok, so everyone here has convinced me to keg. I have put together a very cheap setup by buying parts from different dealers. The whole downside is refrigeration of the keg/kegs. Granted this is all based on assumptions but if I understand how everything is hooked up,,, CO2 comes from the bottle, thr...

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs
Or, would you have room to put a 2.5 gallon corny keg in your regular fridge? That's something I didn't really think of,,,, putting two 2.5 gallon corny kegs together to make one 5 gallon setup, with a single picnic tap. 8) The sad part is the apartment sized refrigerator in this place is near on u...

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs
The reason I was asking about the bottling from the keg after forcing carbonation was I don't have a refrigerator to put the keg into to keep it cool in the first place, and I most certainly can't afford a kegerator nor do I have the space to place a keg fridge anywhere in this apartment anyway. Mon...

KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs
Hello everyone! I hope I can get some keg questions answered that are relative to what I am thinking about doing with kegs and forced carbonation. If I buy a single keg system from someplace like AIH , and then buy kegs as needed, could I bring the first keg up to pressure for the few days it takes ...

Re: Can anyone give me feedback on use of a Speidel Fermente
I have had 2 since I started brewing and have made several batches in both so far and I really like the over sized airlock, and the easy cleanup because of the size of the opening on top. Bottom line (at least for me anyway) well worth the cost. If I wasn't saving up to start using kegs (really hard...

Re: Introductions - Start here!
Hello All! My name is Monty Fritts and I joined the LBG right after I met Chuck in his green hat at the Free State/AHA Brewing Party. So blame Chuck for getting me to join! :drunken: I have been on the outside looking in for many years and once we went to that party, that was it,, I was hooked. Been...
