Carboys and Corny Kegs for sale

Hi Guys, Not sure why I can still post here, since I am not a paid member, maybe I get a break for being a FOUNDING MEMBER??? Anyway, I am still brewing, but have accumulated way too many CLEAN GLASS CARBOYS and BALL LOCK CORNY KEGS. I am willing to trade for brewing ingredients, farm produce, homeb...

Re: Homebrew equipment for sale

Patrick will bring what is left of his homebrew system to the meeting tonight. He has about 1/2 of the small pieces, the refrigerator and the kettles and tower left and will separately or all together. See Craigs List link for more details.

Homebrew equipment for sale

Patrick, the free state brewer, doesn't need his keggle brewing system with various other kegs and carboys any longer. Apparently he is playing with bigger toys now.
It is advertised on Craigs List: https://lawrence.craigslist.org/for/5619446108.html

Give me a call, Steve. I either have one, have a caliper or can help find one.

Re: Free Cherry BBQ Wood

Matt,
I would love to have some of that wood! I may not be at the meeting tonight, but I am sure that Derrick will be. Give some to him if would and it will get to me. I'll let him know that you will have it and he should try to find you.
thanks,
Joe

Re: ***NEED 2 ROW for Saturday Brewday***

Jason, If no one comes through with a trade, check with Ernst Hardware downtown. Last time I was in there he mentioned that he can give us good prices on full bags, as he often needs to fill out an order and gets more than he needs. Mention your Guild membership and maybe he'll give you a deal. I am...

Re: Jock Box Questions...

Good job, Monte, sounds like you came to the most reasonable solution! Your other solutions, jockey box, etc. would have cost you more in the long run anyway and would probably not have been optimal.

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs

Well done, Kevin!! I guess I have been too lazy to do the calculations and just erred on the side of NO oxygen at all. I may keep doing what I have been doing and frankly I don't do it every time, but your post makes it easier for me to justify less diligent keg purging.

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs

"If the keg has been cleaned and sanitized you can fill it with clean water and blow it out with CO2." I guess it depends on your definition of 'clean'. I wouldn't use 'clean' tap water, though I doubt that it would cause much trouble. But if the water was boiled or somehow otherwise sanit...

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs

Jon, You have provided a lot of good advice and I don't want to be critical at all, but (there is always a but, isn't there), the statement: "Then I put the CO2 on the "liquid out" post and put about 10PSI on it while I pop the release valve for a few seconds. That way, I drive off al...

Re: KEG QUESTIONS: from a newbie to kegs

Monty, You will soon give up the whole idea of force carbonating from kegs and then bottling and just start serving from kegs. The bottling routine is just too tedious, taking precious time that could be spent brewing or drinking! That said, corny kegs have many possible leak locations and you may h...

Re: Dwight Burnham's "Regular" Pale Ale

Thanks for posting this, Jon. I was going to ask you if you would be willing to share some of the recipes. I am sure that I drank my fair share of Dwight's version of this and am hoping that you bring yours to a meeting so we can try yours. Too long between to compare, I'm afraid, though.
