Butte roundup

OK, so the Butte roundup contains only one brewery. But you know, only one of those exists in Butte, so http://cdn1.knowyourmeme.com/i/000/108/895/original/dealwithitneti.gif . The Quarry This place has been open for a few years, and seems to turn a pretty good business. Nice interior, live music. F...

Billings roundup

Montana Brewing Company Sports bar atmosphere w/like food offerings (23rd Street-ish). They had Spire Mountain Dark and Dry Cider on tap, which was quite good. Way darker than I expected it to be, very apple-y and low acid with a little caramel flavor. Megan had an APA, which was not really as desc...

Oh, grandpa! Sign into flickr, browse to your picture, and click "Share this". You want the options "Grab the HTML/BBCode", whichever size you want (Medium 640 is good), and BBCode. Like so: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5174/5493962261_fdae3f8d53_z.jpg Jensen needs flickr help ...

Oklahoma City roundup

Spent a few days in Oklahoma City. Here's a very incomplete and poorly worded roundup of beers and beer-related venues there. Establishments: Bricktown Brewery -- I was ready to intensely dislike this place. After my visit, I still kind of dislike it. It's located in Bricktown -- one of those weird-...

Trinity Brewing Company, Colorado Springs, CO

Went to Colorado Springs last weekend, and had dinner at a fairly new brewpub one night. Trinity Brewing Company. It's on Garden of the Gods road, up on the north side of town. Not my favorite section of Co Spgs, but fortunately everything about Trinity except the location is excellent. I was this c...

Re: Liquid Bread, Hays, Kansas

Paid a visit to Hays last week and had a couple beers and appetizer-ish stuff at LB. The french fried green beans were very tasty, guacamole and chips were so-so. Beerwise, it was a bit of a letdown. They were releasing a new beer that day, "Honey Brown". That was about the best of the lot...

Re: Water and Salts

*cough* Water and salts, they go together like schnitzel and alts. Sunny California is to faults as water is to salts. Salts and water, closer to each than mother and daughter. Like those rascal Warthogs and Kotter are salts and water. Whatever may be your wort's flavor profile, a quite reliable way...
