Hey, try living like that for 8 years like I have. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger! At least the beer and food were good.Dale Wheeler wrote:Even though we had to look at f*ing Mizzou paraphernalia all weekend (sorry Glen), Columbia is a great weekend destination.

Re: flat branch pub and brewing, columbia, mo
Is the Flat Branch still good? Planning to sample there this weekend. Any other notable Columbia MO brews/dining? Well, they recently medaled twice at GABF, so apparently they're still doing something good. Don't know of anything else in Columbia. If you don't mind an easy 30 miles total diversion,...

Need to make a 1056 yeast starter
I'm going to do a partial boil extract kit, and I have a 1056 smack pack. I know I could just go with the smack pack straight up, but I'd prefer a starter. Problem is, I've never done one. So, does anybody have any DME I could borrow/buy? I'd trade my smack pack for a starter too, even though I know...

Partial boil extract beer in the kitchen questions
Seems the wife-module is hell bent on trying this. I know the vast majority here are all-grain brewers, but I DO know there is some partial boil experience here as well. Anyway... We have a four gallon stock pot. Once we use this for wort, can it be safely cleaned and used for food again? From the r...

Re: Extract Procedure
I've read about the late addition of extract as well. A method that was taught to me was to turn down or even kill your gas while you add the extract and stir a lot before bringing the gas back up. My understanding was that the real danger was from your extract going right down to the bottom of the ...

Is there still a 1/2 gallon available? If so, will one of those Rubbermaid 2 quart jugs be safe for storing it in?

Looking to buy/borrow a ball lock disconnect for beer out
In Lawrence.
Buying one would be great. Borrowing one for the next week or so would be great as well. I need it for a picnic tap.
Thanks!!
