LBG sour/buggy/funky Beer Tasting

So who else is interested? I've wanted to have one for quite a while. We have some very talented brewers in the club doing great stuff with bugs. There are great commercial examples available. Two things that come to mind: we would need to collect funds or pledge bottles in advance so we could plan ...

Re: Who is brewing Sunday, Jul 11?

An LBG buggy beer tasting is long over do. Knowing the talent we have in this club, I would like to see a funky/buggy/sour beer tasting every month. I'll start a new thread so I don't jack this one further...

Re: Beer Tasting Schedule 2010

Just a quick reminder, tonite's tasting will feature IPAs. If anyone has an IPA they would like to share for the tasting please pm me. Everyone else, try to bring something hoppy to share, homebrew or commercial will work. Thanks!

Re: 25g kettles

Looks good Chris. I'm sure Dj uses a cooler like that w/a manifold in it and likes it alot. How big is your other SS Kettle? I'm going to pull the trigger on a 80qt like the one posted here and use it as a MT. That should match the other two 25g Kettle I use and still keep with a decent mash width:...

Re: Question about "unique" single-step infusion mash

Sounds like you are describing vorlaufing. It is a very standard practice and should be done every time you mash to improve wort clarity.

Re: Whole Hops Sale

Doesn't matter, but wouldn't 2008 be the crop from 2 years ago instead of most recent crop. Semantics, I know, but I don't know if I would want hops from 2008's harvest. . . . . . Yes, Bill meant to say 2009. I've used two year old hops, properly stored they hold up pretty well. Just adjust AA befo...

This is what Bill meant, most recent being last years crop.

I like summit. A beer with only summit is inherently flawed however.

I wish I had extra lids because I've also lost some over the years. If I did have some, they'd be yours. Sorry

Re: Bulk hops storage

Vacuum sealers are nice but not necessary. If you are careful to rotate them and keep them cold in freezer bags, your hops will have negligible AA loss. YMMV
