Re: Interesting Brewing Articles

Thanks for that link, Joe. I, most thankfully, am not gluten-intolerant. But I know a couple people who are. They will definitely want to read that.

Re: KCBE tickets wanted

I too am hoping to score a ticket. I planned on getting them at Blind Tiger, thinking I'd have a little more time, but even they sold out really quickly, even in Topeka.

If anyone has one they need to sell, please let me know.

If the price was right, I'd take some of that action.

Re: Erlenmeyer vs. Growler

Just keeping your stir-bar spinning for any reliable length of time on that concave growler bottom is going to be reason enough to buy a proper flask. My two cents.

Re: Countertop Hop Freezer for sale

My hops are currently taking up two entire door racks in a standard-sized fridge freezer, and I know I'd like to have that space for other things.

Remind me how big this little counter-top freezer is and how much it will hold? (interior and exterior dimensions)

Thanks!

Re: Oxygen-based "Clean-itizer" Powder wanted

To be fair to JWL, I have noticed a marked improvement in their hours of operation and their stock on-hand (especially specialty grains). I'm guessing Jake would likely have more stock on-hand of other staples as well if we as a club were showing the shop a bit more support. Our resourcefulness as a...

Re: Danstar BRY-97 American West Coast Dry

I used this recently on a double-IPA. It's still in the fermenter, about to get cold-crashed tonight, but my initial tastes were good. There was a lot of latency on the initial signs of fermentation, but I did a very small pitch (un-typical for me, but then so is my use of dry yeast in general), so ...

Re: Universal Poppets for Sale.

It's a $1.50. Buy one and give it a try. You pay 5x that much on a 6-pack of beer you've never had before. I could do that, Rob, but considering I'm already flush with brand-specific poppets, and all of my kegs have freshly replaced brand-name ones, it's unlikely I'll to need to swap one out anytim...

Re: Universal Poppets for Sale.

Let me know if they work out well for you (how truly "universal" they are). If it saves me the hassle in the future from having to count the number of Firestone, Cornelius, et al makes and models of kegs I have acquired, buying poppets for each specific brand, then it will be worth the add...

Re: Danstar BRY-97 American West Coast Dry

Just so I'm sure I follow... you're not doing a special order that needs to be paid for in advance. He's just going to order a bunch and we can go pick it up whenever? Or do we need to go get it right away? A special trip for yeast is unlikely for me, but I could pick it up before the meeting.

I'm going to need to brew again pretty quickly after Brewfest, so put me down for one packet. This is dry yeast, yes?
