Try a longer period at 70 degrees. If no change, pitch a vile of lager yeast and let sit for a week at 70.
Hope that helps.

Re: Can anyone give me feedback on use of a Speidel Fermente
I've appreciated your feedback. The primary fermentation on the first batch was transferred Monday. I used a strong attenuating yeast ( Wyeast 3711 Saison ) and achieved a really complete fermentation. It went from 1.061 to 1.002 over 3 weeks. This finished lower than I expected. Has anyone seen an ...

Re: 2015 seminars
How about pairing with food, cheeses etc.
Maybe a seminar could be done or it could become a part of the beer style each month.
Or use of home brew as a component in various dishes. Chocolate porter cake using a porter throughout
Just thoughts as the dinner hour nears.

Re: Has anyone made pretzel's and used lye ?
I've been using the Zymurgy recipe for years now and its great. I'd make sure to use stainless for your lye bath. I've fouled up cookware that was not stainless. Here is their link: http://digitaleditions.walsworthprintgroup.com/publication/?i=139107&p=&l=&m=&ver=&pp= Its also av...

Re: Yeast starter question for lagers
Dale, also keep in mind that the total fermentation time is longer. Initial fermentation for my lagers is typically a month. Then a slow cold secondary. Remember relax don't worry, have another homebrew.

Re: Homegrown Hops
Regarding let them dry for a few days, toss them around a bit and vaccuum bag in 4 to 5 days. If longer no worries. If you see that the Lupuilan oils " golden yellow inside" is falling out then pack them up. Thats the suff your looking for.

Re: Homegrown Hops
I've been growing several varitys for years now and have had good luck. I pick them about the time that the majority of the cones are just starting to brown on the tips. I let them dry for a few days and vaccuum bag and place in the freezer. I brewed 10 gallons of a 1.055 O.G. APA a few weeks ago, I...

I'm paided up as of last Thursdays meeting for this year. I made a request yesterday asking to be put back in the system. I know the buys fill up quick and wanted to get an order in with the next one.

RootBier Extract needed
Does anyone have a container of RB extract that they would trade/sell.? Or does anyone know of somewhere in Lawrence that sells it > The new homebrew shop does not stock it.
Thanks, John
