I'm sure I should be cheering your impending joining and your lowered premiums but kudos on the new job! Please start working on having your employers ask our regional/local distributors why they won't offer Road Dog scottish porter, Double Dog double pale ale, K9 Cruiser and other seasonals/varieti...

Free State Octoberfest
Every bit as good as Draft magazine said.
The Malt!
The balance!
The twinge of aftertaste!
The fact I've had two growlers in 3 days!
Get it before I do!

North Coast Brewing Co. offerings
In the past few weeks we've been able to get various styles from the North Coast Brewing Co. out of Fort Bragg California. I've bought them all at Cork N Barrel in Lawrence but they should be available elsewhere. I'll try & combine everything into one post, reminding you all that my tastes run t...

Breckenridge 417 Double Hopped IPA
From the Breckenridge brewery out of Denver, CO. 9.2 alcohol, $10.99 a sixer of 12oz. bottles More 'mellow' than the Flying Dog 10.5% Double Dog Double Pale Ale but not sure whether or not it's because of a percent less alcohol or not. (or not, yeah, yeah, I'm typin' double already) Still, LOVED IT!...

Flying Dog Brewery Double Dog Double Pale Ale------Mmm BABY!
OK, for those of you who don't know my tastes I LOVE bitter more than malty more than sweet. Prefer a brew who's alcohol content is strong enough to defend itself as well. Love most of the styles Flying Dog Brewery out of Denver has to offer but DAMN!!!!!!! Was up in Minnesota this last weekend &...

Various Holiday ales through a foggy weeks recollections
Tried the following holiday ales over this last festive week: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale: Great standard holiday offering from Sierra Nevada & reasonably priced at $7.50 a sixer. Good hoppy, malty balance with hints of spices. If I remember correctly, around 6% alcohol. New Belgium brewing co...

Monty Pythons Holy Grail Ale
Monty Pythons Holy Grail Ale (Tempered over burning witches) from the Black Sheep brewery in Yorkshire. 16.9 oz. bottles. When the liquor stores first got this in seems like over last winter I had the same reaction a buddy of mine (whom I respect when it comes to taste in suds) did upon seeing the l...

Sam Adams Patriot sampler
Review from the last week of July from another board: Here goes a week after I've had 'em & without the bottle labels & packaging to remind me of the details. First off--ten bucks (YES!--$10!) for four (4) twelve (12) ounce (oz.) bottles------(YOW! $2.50 apiece but hey, we've all paid a lot ...

Wychwood Hobgoblin Strong Dark Ale
I took it that they were aiming for a dark English ale style. Didn't get the chocolate & fruit flavors but we didn't let 'em get that warm, neither. Both of us would certainly buy this one again but would save it for a special occasion at a Hamilton a six-pack. Price this at 8 a sixer and we'd i...

Hey Sherry, Barry & all!
They call me Mr. Blues but I'll sometimes answer to Bill. I'm another inaugural member of the Guild who's dropped out of the membership for around 6-7 years. Just started brewing again about a year ago when a friend showed some interest in helping. He's now doing his own wine besides helping with th...
