Awesome, overview of the refractometer. Thanks so much. I actually just got one a few months ago after seeing you and a few others using them at Joe's backyard big-brew, and am a huge fan. It really does save a Lot of time. I am a little unsure and need to learn more about the BU:GU on my pre boil ...

Ive used a refractometer now for around 3 years and have found it to be a great simple tool for brewing AG batches. My tips would be to use it to monitor runnings from your mash. You need to do this so when sparging you do not go below a certian gravity where it would be possible to extract tannins....

I think it's a good idea. Not sure how you would moderate it, much less be sure you had good info. Agreed that the seminar information should be posted in there. Easy enuff, send a draft to the mod, the mod reviews it and can ask for any changes. Then only the mod can post the final version in the ...

Starsan freezes

within minutes. I cut my brewday to 10g cuz of the cold. Came time to chill thru the cfc which was loaded w/ starsan and sitting inside so it wouldnt freeze. Within minutes of hooking it up in my system to chill, it froze. Blew it out and it as like whip cream......had to laugh at that one! Resaniti...
