Anyone know if there are any updates for Promash? Specifically, new hop/malt/ingredient lists? Just manually added 2 new hop varieties today.
I emailed the company but haven't heard back.

cold room setup request
I've got a great spot in my garage to build a cold room for charcuterie and lagering. For those of you who have built these, I'd love to hear from you about all the dos and don't realated to this. PM me and you can come over to take a look, and I'll feed and beer you for your trouble.

sources for brew supplies in Lawrence

Re: Dry yeast tips from Fermentis
I use dry yeast almost all the time now. My favorites for pale and dark ales are safale 05 and Danstar Nottingham. I've also used Safale T58 and it's peppery profile works well with saison (but not appropriate for wit). One downside to dry yeast is that they are not available for many specialty beer...

Yeah, except I'm letting it "reconstitute" when the temp rises.

semi-frozen kegs
Over the last couple of weeks, my unheated garage dips below 32 deg regularly, probably down to 25 or so, but not enough to freeze a keg solid. My question: will the quality of beer (in serving kegs) be affected by freezing/thawing cycles? How will it affect carbonation? I discovered that it was col...

clean bottles for free
I have several cases of clean, de-labeled bottles to give away. They are about 50% 12 oz, with the remainder 16 oz and up. I also have 2 or 3 1 gallon glass jugs (jug wine variety). If nobody replies by Dec 31, they're all going to visit Ripple Glass to be reincarnated into something useful. I can b...

I saw these dates on the LBG website calendar so that makes them correct, yes?

Maifest and Brewfest 2010 dates?
Are the dates for Maifest (May 2, 2010) and Brewfest (Sept 25, 2010) definitely correct?

Re: Cocoa Nibs?
I'd think it'd go great with a porter or cream stout. Either post boil or even the secondary.
I have some carob molasses from a mediteranian market that I'm going to try with a porter this winter.
