Re: Newbie co2/keg question (help!)

In addition to checking everything for leaks (something you should do on a regular basis) you might try putting the required pounds of pressure to your Corny keg and then valving off your CO2. If the keg is not leaking, the guage will show that the CO2 pressure has remained constant in the keg overn...

Re: Membership?

Check the calendar for the next meeting date and come on by. You will find a warm welcome and a few beverages and information. It doesn't get any better than that :)

Re: StarSan - How it works

If I make any statement here, I am in way over my head, but I was reading a little about it. It appears that yeast require an amont of phosphorus in order to create new DNA. Starsan is phosphoric acid which is not the same. It is an interesting read for an unsophisticated garage brewer like me. http...

Work for a young man

At risk of abusing my message board priveledges, my 19 year old son is looking for employment while he continues his EMT studies. Something in the Lawrence area, or nearby, would be awesome. He is a good hand, gets along with everyone and is not afraid of a good days work. Please PM me if you know o...

I'm good, Chris. I can grow up what I need from the smack pack. Just wanted to share the fun, in case you didn't have it. Should have known you already had something so pedestrian.

Re: Bug Farm #4

Hi ! I've just visited this forum. Happy to get acquainted with you. Thanks. Do you do bugs! 8) ? Welcome to the forum. There are other bug farmers here! Pretty sure that is a spammer, Chris. The only "bugging" they do is when they post on a forum. BTW, do you have the Wyeast 3763 Roesela...

Re: Introductions - Start here!

New to brewing as I have just 4 all grains under my belt in the last month. Have lived in Lawrence the past 11 years, and was born and raised here in Kansas. Currently have a Simcoe IPA 1 week into bottle conditioning. Trappist Brown Ale second week of fermentation. Trappist Rochefort 8 in first we...

Re: Keg/Carboy Washer Build

Nice addition with the jockey box set up. I built my washer about a month ago. Would not be without one now. I will have to make some modifications to wash the jockey box since it's a three hole'r, not a two.

Recipes for on hand ingredients?

Seems like I remember someone posting a link to a site that had a recipe database with the capability to match the recipe to on hand ingredients. Looked for it on our site and on line with no success. Does anybody remember this, or am I having a moment?

Thanks in advance, for any help.

Re: Chest Freezer

I have not done so yet, but you can plumb your taps through the lid. There are no working parts in there. Although, I have to admit that the finished look of the cedar is pretty cool. Nice link, Jason.

Re: Chest Freezer

I have a Kenmore 15 cu. ft. that is about 18 yrs old. I have had it hooked up to a digital controller for about a year now and it works great. I don't try to keep the temp nailed at one setting unless I need it for lagering. If you set the temp range at a wider variable, it lets the compressor run l...
