Dave Ogle, who does a lot of welding and mechanical work for Free State gave me his card at the bar about a month ago and said that he has helped out a lot of home brewers in the past. You might give him a call. 7855503384 or droemailatgmaildotcom

Re: Kansas Homebrew Legislation
This takes about 3 minutes and could make a lot of difference! Could actually make the things we already do legal!

Need CTZ hops
If anyone would have any Columbus/Tomahawk/Zeus hops that they would like to trade, I have plenty of recently purchased and frozen Amarillo, Centennial, Galaxy, Saaz and Chinook hops (some whole flower, some pellet) that I would trade even quantities of.
thanks,
Joe

Need to borrow some MOPA
If anyone would have 10 pounds of Marris Otter that they could spare, I could pay you back after the upcoming grain buy delivery.
Let me know, thanks in advance!

Re: questions about cider and retail stores
To answer the other question in your post, Louisburg does sell cider without preservatives, you can get it at the Merc (and probably other places). It is usually in plastic gallon jugs and states that it is free of preservatives on the label. We have made very good hard cider with this. I have talke...

Re: Shipping Kegs
Tom,
Why are you shipping kegged coffee to S. California? Inquiring minds, you know?
Seems like a huge expense to ship something that is mostly water, but I guess beer is mostly water too and we don't think twice about shipping costs.

Not our proudest moment, but I guess you gotta be famous for something. This has lasted well over our allotted 15 minutes!

Re: Saison Leftovers IPA
My bad. I looked up the IPA range after I posted and it is officially 40 to 60, the recipe stated 50, so that is well within the officially stated range of an IPA. Don't know where you get the 120, but those hop calculators are all over the place on various recipe calculators. 120 would be just fine...

Re: Saison Leftovers IPA
I know that it has become a popular thing, but to me, an IPA with Belgian yeast is an abomination!! That said, the amount of hops in that recipe don't get anywhere near what I consider the IPA range, so you aren't making an IPA, anyway. Call it something else and I am sure it will be fine.

Our friend Micah got a good write up in the Pitch about his Mankind Brewing project. He has a kickstarter campaign going on right now. I think it is a very worthy cause!
