Bottle caps - Need them ASAP - Please help

I forgot to order bottle caps the last time I put in a brewing supply order. Does anyone in Lawrence have an extra pack or two they'd sell me? Or, will anyone happen to be at a brew store this week? I was hoping to bottle some lemonade this weekend, and I just hate to pay more for shipping than the ...

Re: Panty Drop Lemonade

I found a non-fermentable cherry extract at NorthernBrewer.com. It comes in a small bottle and recommends the entire bottle for a 5-gallon batch. My lemonade is fermenting great now (over a week in). I can't believe how many CO2 bubbles are rolling us the carboy. Fun to watch. I was thinking of usin...

Re: Panty Drop Lemonade

I'm very interested to see how yours turns out. I started my third batch about two weeks ago (because batch 2 was gone way to quick). Batch 3 took seven days before showing signs of active fermentation (scary), even with a prepared starter (a small starter). Seven days later the fermentation is stil...

Re: cooling wort - helps if you have a working thermometer

I actually use an analog thermometer from a turkey fryer when I brew. My stockpot lid has a small hole just large enough to put the thermometer in. I leave it in for the boil, and the cooling so I always know how hot it is.

Re: Back to Kansas

First of all---I look forward to meeting you at a future guild meeting. Second of all---although I have no real brew equipment myself (I stick to extract), just come to some meetings, meet the members, and some group brews are almost certain to come about with a number of guild members. The LBG memb...

Re: Carboy

Confirmed. The Merc does have 5 gallon carboys. They cost $32.99 + tax and include a bung (not drilled). Considering the price of gas to Topeka/Kansas City and the cost to ship one of these, it seems like an extremely fair price. No 6.5 gallon carboys, although I wrote a suggestion for their comment...

Re: Carboy

You've seen 5 gallon carboy's at the Merc for $33??? Honestly, I think that's a pretty good deal. I might swing by there and pick one up! I've only seen the 3 gallon carboys there!

Re: Carboy

Good luck... I've been keeping my ear out for one for a while. They're not easy to come by! The Merc has Better bottles (plastic) 5 gallon sizes (don't quote me on this). The Merc also has 3 gallon glass carboys last time I checked... If anyone's got more than one glass carboy for sale, hit me up to...

Re: Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

It is not easy to find. I know of a stash in Lawrence. It is at the Alvin's on 6th, next to HyVee. Damnit. Now the last of it in town will vanish. If I only had just kept my mouth shut.

Re: Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

Ohhh! Bourbon County Stout. How sweet thou are. Like chocolate laced molasses and creamy manna falling from high. If they pushed you any further you'd become overpriced soy sauce, but they stopped you in time and the result is divine. Why would a man named BourbonDrinker love a beer called Bourbon C...

So just park the bottles in the back of a fridge?

Beer Museum - Archiving a Brew

Advice please for putting a beer away for future consumption. What are the best recommended techniques for saving a bottle of beer for a year or two?
