Grain Swaps
As discussed in the June Meeting:
With the recent bulk grain/hop buys, some people may be willing to do some horse trading.
Rules:
Post what you have to offer in this thread.
A common method of traiding is 1oz of hops to 1lb of grain.
1oz of hops for 1oz of hops
1lb of grain for 1lb of grain
And so on.
Just be fair.
Just to get this started;
I have Roasted Barley about 7lbs.

1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

Heres what Dingmans has to say about Special B.cyburai wrote:Call me stupid; what's Special B?Blktre wrote:Ive got some Special B........entertaining offers??
"Special B (140? - 155? L)
The darkest of the Belgian crystal malts, Dingemans Special B will impart a heavy caramel taste and is often credited with the raisin-like flavors of some Belgian Abbey ales. Larger percentages (greater than 5%) will contribute a dark brown-black color and fuller body."
I actually use it in any amber colored type beer. Altbiers, Octoberfest, Bocks, you name it. The color is awsome and the flavor beats the heck out of any Crystal 120 anyday.

Andy, How much do you have and what do you want? I really have nothing to trade!
Id say since you have nothing to trade id stick w/ the 1# for 1oz. trade or 1# for $1.00........ive got plenty........I get grains every now and again from the St. Louis Brews pallet order and this is where this sack came from on a Cargil pallet....

I have 12 oz of Cascade leaf hops left over from last years Hops Direct order that I don't need. They have been vacuum packed and in my freezer since the day I got them. That's the problem with Hops Direct - you order a pound and they send you 30 oz (some problem!). I would trade at a ratio of say, 4oz per pound of some specialty grains (since they are a year old).

Don't worry, be hoppy.

Grains for swap
I have a lot of vienna, blk patent, roast and chocolate. willing to trade for other grains or hops (that I don't already have running out of my ears). I've never tried Honey Malt so I would entertain some of that (yes Sean, I know you have some, but I have nothing to trade that you don't already have).
Hell I'll trade pretty much anything as long as I can use what you're trading. Besides, this topic needed a bump anyway.
