20 lb. CO2 Cylinders

#1 Post by bneuen » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:04 pm

I have six 20 lb. CO2 cylinders that I am looking to get rid of. I have not decided on a price yet, but I am going to try to make it a decent deal for guild members. I have already traded in 5 of the cylinders, so they are full and ready to go. The sixth cylinder was still mostly full, so I didn't swap it (using a bathroom scale, I estimate it has about 18 lbs. of CO2 still in it by comparing it to an empty cylinder). I will bring them to the guild meeting this Thursday. Let me know if you are interested (PM me or talk to me during the guild meeting).

As a side note, the 20 lb. cylinders are much cheaper per pound to swap out than the 5 lb. cylinders (of course, 50 lb. cylinders are an even better deal). A 5 lb. cylinder at Praxair costs around $15 to $18 to swap (if I remember right), and a 20 lb. cylinder costs around $20 to $25 to swap out. There is a "Hazardous Material Charge" when swapping; the more cylinders you swap, the lower that fee is per cylinder.

I call dibs on one. Lets figure out what's fair to you.

All of the CO2 cylinders are spoken for now. I'll post here if somebody changes their mind.

I'm thinking around $100 per cylinder. Does this sound fair? Praxair values empty (20 lb.) cylinders at $156. Also remember that these are filled and ready to go.
