Yep, it's that time. Travel by the Pint is getting ready to... well... travel!

First up is a trip south to the Shreveport LA/Ocean Springs MS/Mobile AL area. If anyone knows of a great craft brewery or brewpub we should visit while we're there or on the drive there and back, please let me know. That one is coming up in a few weeks, so I'll probably need to start contacting breweries later this week. It could be one you've visited, or one that you've heard great things about.

Second is San Diego. We would be flying so I want to stick to the greater San Diego area. I was planning to contact Lost Abbey, among others.

Thanks!

Pizza Port with locations in Ocean Beach (San Diego), Solana Beach, Carlsbad & San Clamente. Carlsbad is my favorite. Pizza Port was large brewpub of the year at GABF this year.

Alpine Beer Company in Alpine CA a short drive east of San Diego and has great beer.

Stone Brewing in Escondido. You have to stop by Stone if you're in the area.

Green Flash, Alesmith and Ballast Point are all great brewiers in the San Diego Area, but I have not been to them.

Two more places in San Diego.......

San Diego Brewing Co is a nice little brewpub that brews some to decent beers and some are very good.

Blind Lady Ale House was at the time I visited, just an ale house, but apparently the owner, Lee Chase (former head brewer at Stone) has started up Automatic Brewing Co in the back of the ale house, so that might an interesting place to check out.

Awesome list, Sean!
Three of those mentioned are on my "to be contacted" list. Not saying which ones, but there is every possibility I'll be bringing some tasters of a pecan beer to the January meeting. :bounce:

Also in NOLA (in the Quarter, on Decatur St., across from the ferry) is Crescent City Brewing.
Decent beer, food was better, but it's hard to get a bad meal down there!
