KCBM 2010

LBG brings home the bacon. As some may remember the 27th KCBM competition was this last weekend. LBG brought home 11 medals for our efforts. And the winners were:

Angelo Ruiz: Cat. 3 Bronze, European Amber Lager
Cat. 6 Gold, Light Hybrid Beer
Cat. 9 Silver, Scottish 80
Cat. 15 Bronze, German Wheat
Cat. 23 Gold, Specialty Beer

Brick: Cat. 12 Silver, Brown Porter

Jim McGovern: Cat. 18 Gold, Belgian Dark Strong Ale

Chuck Ferguson: Cat. 9Bronze, Scottish Wee Heavy
Cat. 19 Gold, English Barleywine
Cat. 19 Silver, Old Ale (English Barleywine)
Cat. 19 Bronze, English Barleywine

Chris Stenger, claiming dual citizenship and listed as KCBM, took Gold for Cat. 17 Sour Ale with a Gueze

OUT FREAKING STANDING. Well Done all, congratulations.

We should have a tasting at the next meeting of all the winners....
BEFORE THERE WAS MATHEMATICS, RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY OR CULTURE...THERE WAS BEER.

On Tap: ..........Barley Wine from 2006, BGSA from 2006...

I'll list as LBG at our competition!

I was doing the mini-BOS for cat 19 and I got to try all of Chucks beers, they were all outstanding. I was really fighting for his silver medal winning beer to get the gold, if I would have known they were all his it would have been a lot easier. It is really amazing to sweep a category like that. Of course, 5 medals in 5 different categories is pretty awesome too, congrats Angelo!

My gold medal Gueze also won be the Belgian BOS. I'll bring a bottle to the next meeting.
