Mass Street getting temporary outdoor sales space

#1 Post by ryanmetcalf » Sun Jul 12, 2020 1:26 pm

Under the new layout, currently set to be in place until Oct. 31, the angled parking spots that previously lined Massachusetts Street from Sixth Street to 11th Street were replaced with parallel parking spots, creating space along the sidewalk and at the end of each block for businesses to use for outdoor seating or sales.

Look's like Burger Stand is going to be taking advantage of the extra outdoor space, curious to see what other uses come of this

Out in JoCo, downtown Shawnee approved "parklets" available by permit, if the businesses wanted to use the space, but they had to barriacade/block them themselves and had to do so in an aesthetic way that would be approved as part of their permit process
