Breckenridge 417 Double Hopped IPA

#1 Post by Mr. Blues » Fri Jun 01, 2007 9:27 pm

From the Breckenridge brewery out of Denver, CO.

9.2 alcohol, $10.99 a sixer of 12oz. bottles

More 'mellow' than the Flying Dog 10.5% Double Dog Double Pale Ale but not sure whether or not it's because of a percent less alcohol or not. (or not, yeah, yeah, I'm typin' double already)

Still, LOVED IT! (But then again, remember I love hops whereby others may not)

Can't put my finger on it but they seem to use a different hop combination than Flying Dog as the 417 seems to have less 'nose' and a better overall balance, probably could find out by going to the respective websites but too busy drinking to care (and at 9-10% just a couple & you don't care about much else lemme tell ya)

Fact of the matter is, Kansas can GET the Breckenridge 417 offering through the distributors but as yet can't seem to get 'em to carry the Flying Dog.

Enjoy!

Just missed out on Free States' Thunderhead pale ale (*@!@*) before it ran out or I'd tell ya about that.

Free States Maibock was excellent again this year as always & the Rye was a nice malty change of pace, too.

Get down there ASAP as of last weekend they also had the Owd Macs Imperial Stout on tap as well!
