* Bucket Heater
* Designed to safely and rapidly heat water
* Will boil water in a 5 gallon bucket
* Features a safety device which is designed to virtually eliminate any fire danger in the event the water boils dry, or the heater is runoutside the water container and in contact with combustible materials
* Each unit comes with an attractive stainless steel guard
* UL listed

I bought one of these to speed up the HLT and to maintain water temp. All I can say is that it works well. Shaved 20-30 minutes off the HLT temping.

Where did you find this thing? It really works? I am facinated by it's design. Is there a thermostat or do you just plug it in?

It's pretty common at Farm stores. I saw one at Lawrence Feed and had to give it a test. I think it was $35. You might be able to find one cheaper online.
