The March beer tasting was category 9 in the BJCP style-guidelines. Beer #1 Was Belhaven, Beer #2 was Sam Adams Irish Red #3 was Schlafly's new Scotch Ale. Thanks to John M. and Matt B. for their help with the tasting.

Brick did a seminar on cleaning and sanitation. Cleaning is done with PBW or a mixture of two parts TSP-90 (septic friendly) and one part oxygen cleaner. Soak and then rinse. Don't mix cleaner (base) with sanitizer (acid). It will neutralize and become ineffective. There are many podcasts available on chemicals. Dishwasher is also good for washing bottles. Alchohol, iodine, and heat were mentioned as sanitizers. Jeff Jensen mentioned that he uses his (clean) oven for sterilizing bottles. 350F for one hour does the trick. Bar keeper's friend was mentioned for cleaning and passivating SS, vinegar can be used to make copper shiny.
