New people
Devon – has been making mead 2 years, but it takes a long time (beer is faster)
Tom and Dave – from Perry, here to buy Jason’s cooker. Been hearing about the guild for a while
Rich – has brewed for a while, but brewing equipment is in Albuquerque. Just drinking now.
Clean up crew: Matt, Rich, Dave – thank you.
Treasurer’s report – Clint is out of town, reported by Lisa
We currently have 120 members, and about $4670 in the bank.
Librarian’s report - Devon
New book – something about beer and gardening. Check with Devon for more titles.
Quartermaster - Andy
Need to replace the 3-tap towers, they get so much use, they hardly stay in storage, and need updating.
Proposal: get rid of the wooden towers and replace them with cooler jockey boxes.
Jeff – Andy and I should suggest a budget ($300) and spec out fittings and hosing
Rich – second Jeff’s motion to get rid of the wooden towers and go with the coolers. Vote: passed – within limits of the proposed budget, with the suggestion that the board approve any spending beyond that.
Suggestion to get this done (as proposed) in time for Brewfest.
Old Business –
Muggs for Juggs – June 25th. See the forum for beer donations and details.
Brewfest Committees
Brick has volunteered to head the food committee
Beer committee – Andy and Jason will organize (in spite of some absence), plus get a committee put together
Logistics – Tucker, Lisa (Jeff and Ellen have notes and information)
Music – Joe, 2 bands booked, things are looking good.
Brick – if anyone has a BBQ team that’s interested, talk to me this week.
Ellen: executive decision: no Friday bands.
Food: Saturday breakfast? VIP tickets? Extra cost? Brick will talk to the committee and come up with a proposal
New business
Jay – Hall of Foamers in Topeka – bad beer clinic, this Saturday. Learn about 8 defects in beers, $15 a person. Talk to him - 9am at the Blind Tiger, this Saturday
Jason’s proposal for Brewfest beer flights, a matrix with clear tags to label, and using statistics from the last 2 Brewfests, a way to make sure that the mix is good, and that all the different donated beers get served. Seems like a brilliant plan.
