Minutes of the November 13th Meeting

The meeting started at 8:15 P.M. sharp.

Clean Up Crew: Derek and Andrew dutifully volunteered. Thanks guys!

The following were present: Tim, Jamie & Baby Baroni, Dwight Burnham, Pete Clouston, Secretary Barry Fitzgerald,
Robb Hensleigh, President Doug Holub, Sherry Holub, Biermiester Jeff Jensen, Ellen Jensen, Robert Johnson, Derek Osborn, Treasure Bob Oswald, Andrew & Lisa Suddith, Joe Yoder, and guests Dale Wheeler, Dustin Norlund, Chris Lounsbury.
Old Business:

Rex is missing again so therefore no new news on glasses with Guild logo.

Up-coming seminars:

* December: none because of Christmas Party
* January: Beer Labels-Barry Fitzgerald
* February: Round Robin panel discussion: mashing, sanitation, yeast, etc. for topics.
Panel: Robb Hensleigh, Doug Holub, Jeff Jensen.
* March: Gadgets-Dustin Norlund

Other Suggestions: Another informational talk about sanitation. Rob Johnson proposed that we have a seminar about Mead and to incorporate it into commercial tasting segment of meeting. Everyone liked the idea of doing that in January. Robb H. suggested a round robin format about various techniques on brewing and various methods in dealing with certain issues or problems. This was scheduled for February.

Club Promotion: Jeff & Ellen developed a flyer for stuffing in bags of customers at the Lawrence Brewing Supply. The design will be refined by Ellen and Barry. A supply will be available for other locations. Joe proposed a motion to print up flyers and have guild funds pay for the promotion of the Guild. All favored the motion. Robb H. proposed a revamp of a poster for hanging in the brew shop. Bob said we could silk screen it on fabric to make a flag or screen on board for a more permanent sign to recruit new members for the club.

Fund Scandal: (see November newsletter) after further discussion from involved parties, it proved to be false. Our Pres is innocent.

Elected Positions: Elections will take place in January for Officer positions. Dwight agreed to continue doing the newsletter only if everyone will get the info in by the first of the month.
New Business:

Christmas Party: Jeff and Ellen will be our gracious hosts. Bring spouses, munchies, appetizers and assorted good eats, and of course plenty of homebrew.

Office of Biermiester: (The new office holder) should not have the burden of paying for all our beer. The guild discussed many possible alternatives to prevent putting the biermiester in debt. Tim proposed to form a committee to figure out a plan to handle this. Rob J. suggested we wait to form a committee until the new Biermiester is elected. Jeff proposed to forward $100 check to the future biermiester to cover expenses for commercial tastings. Sherry added that all future commercial tastings be raised to $2.00 per person. All in favor.

Meeting adjourned at 9:15.
