LBG Minutes – September 2011

Tasting
This month’s tasting featured Oktoberfest beers. They were tasty, with grainy fruitiness.

Business Meeting
Clean-up was by Kyle, Carter, Steve, Russell, and others. Thanks!

New people:
One new person; sorry I missed the name. Please PM me and I’ll amend this.

Membership dues are due in January.

Treasurer – was selling tickets all night long.

Library – We received a donation of twenty new books from Dwight Burnham. He is the lifetime member of LBG. One of the founding members, he started Brewfest sixteen years ago; the first two were in his backyard. He’s now in his 90s. He’ll be at brewfest (look for the old guy taking pictures), so everyone introduce yourself and thank him for getting all of this started!

Interclub Brewing Competition
Frank hosted the brewing at his house Labor Day weekend.

Manhattan Oktoberfest
Tallgrass hosts October 15. We can’t donate or brew onsite, but we can help serve and answer questions. It’ll be a good opportunity to introduce people to home brewing and to raise public consciousness regarding the new beer laws.

Brewfest!
Brewfest is September 24! Check the forum for updates! Everyone needs to volunteer for something. Check the forum for specific things ahead of time, and please be ready to help during the event. Many hands, light work.
