Announcements

AHA National Homebrew Competition: The National Homebrew Competition is a national competition sponsored by the American Homebrewers Association that recognizes the most outstanding homebrewed beers being produced by amateur brewers from around the globe

Entries Due: April 9-18, 2003
First Round: Judging at regional sites from April 25-May 4, 2003
Second Round & Awards Ceremony: June 19-21, 2003 at the AHA National Homebrewers Conference, Chicago, IL


Minutes of the March 13th meeting
Treasurer's Report: Account Balance as of March 12, 2003: $1395.52

Old Business
Stout Competition: Still lining up judges for the April meeting. All are tentative. Pete will post an entry form on our website.

BrewFest: June 7th, Clinton Lake

Bands: Midday Ramblers are tentative. Will decide by May.
Looseknit string band: may be available.

Food committee: Joe Yoder, Pete, Dale

Any member who submits beer for the brewfest gets one free ticket. One ticket for each 5 gallons of beer. If more than 5 gallons, must be different beer styles.
Dale mentioned that beer needs to be brewed soon for the event.
Rob will maintain a list of beers pledged.

Rob suggested emailing out an action item list after the meeting. Dale agreed to do so.

Ellen will talk with Dwight about borrowing the shelters, tables and water jugs from his friend again this year.

Ellen and Xan will be responsible for paper goods, etc.

All members are to bring a side dish.

Jeff Jensen will be in charge of the entry gate. Ellen is coordinating ticket sales and enforcement. Joe brought 150 tickets to the meeting. Tickets were numbered and distributed.

Barry graciously agreed to create a design for the beer glasses. Xan will order after artwork is received.

Chuck Ferguson will brew for the brewfest.

Rob will contact the Topeka Hall of Foamers to let them know about the brewfest.

Membership Cards: Joe brought membership cards for this year's members. Dale is distributing.

Big Brew: May 3rd, Dale will follow-up on the McCormick keg with Boulevard Brewery.

Joe will provide a master recipe for stout..

New Business
Get Well Ed: Rob will send a get well card to Ed, Head Brewer at High Noon Saloon, from the club.
