Craig volunteered to type in the list and manage it for now

Paypal account

Rob floated the idea of having a Paypal account for accepting dues, funds for T-shirts, etc.

Matt has set up business accounts before

Jonathon has read horror stories about dealing with Paypal

Craig found an email in his inbox about this, and will forward it to the officers

Sean suggested setting up a second bank account just for the Paypal account

no other business

tickets will be $5
dividing the donation into 3 or 4 lots

Rob asked for cleanup volunteers

Rob says it's one of the best writeups on brewing he's read, and not just because he's a big part of the article

looking for volunteers

more of a beer appreciation event than a contest
no chance of being BJCP certified at this late a date
Rob describes it as "an über commercial tasting"
Joe volunteered to be Rob's stand-in next week
need to make sure we contact other brew clubs
Don from Hall of Foamers volunteered
tenatively aiming for 15 Oct, subject to contacting Ren Fest
Matt will contact local homebrew shops about donating prizes
can we find a poster that talks about beer & history to mount and display?

the "keg guy" (Mark Hinds from Iowa) will be back in town sometime in September

"I still have ball-lock 5 gallon kegs for $10, rubber replacement keg kits for $3, and access to new aluminum CO2 cylinders at:

20 lb 115.00 (with handle)"

Joe suggested that the club buy a chunk of kegs @ $10, then resell them for $12

Joe presented pictures from Glenwood canyon brewpub, Glenwood springs.

Liquid Bread brewery, Hays Kansas.

- beer very good and clean

- food was awesome

- beers were exactly name to what their style was



Marc sez

Fort Hays has "octoberfest" on a Friday afternoon, and this year Liquid Bread will be there with good beer for the first time ever. The next day there's a game and street party, with more beer.

Don J says Brewmaster at Hays is Blind Tiger's last apprentice.

Glenwood Springs was a Honeymoon/20th Anniv visit.

- decent brewery, impressive 12 different beers

- mead and cider were there but not by them.

- beers were excellent.

Joe went to SFC.

Magnolia Pub/brewery, very nice Dead theme brewery, in Haight Ashbury.

The Toronado in the area is outstanding as well.

Rogue "outlet" in SFC is also very good.

Colorado, loop around Colorado.

Brewpubs are kid friendly, so it was easy to go.

Started off in Col Springs, went to Phantom Canyon. Highly recommended, good food. Porter with Peat smoked malt, very good. Cream Ale good. Some gravity served beers.

Good liquor store: coltrain wine. (sp?)

One oopsie - in montrose(sp)? near gunnison. Black Canyon. Place was vacant, and beer was not good. Walked out, without eating or good.

Grand Junction: downtown is really cool. Lots of small business. Rockslide Brewery. Fish and Chips w/Salmon was very good. Grand Junction has good wine too. Fruit farms near CO river. Grapes grow there too. Meadery there, but didn't go.

Don't sell beer on Sundays in Colorado!

sudden trip to Silicon Valley. BJs (chain, near Apple Campus) really good imperial stout. Food very good. Palo Alto - original Gordon Biersch. Reminiscent of FSB.

Chicago: Goose Island- Brewery Tour.

Best Part is Siebel Institute is right next to it.

Tasting is a "real tasting" where the head brewer talks about styles. Very worthwhile. Tasted the GABF entries.

Joe mentioned none of the places he's been to match FSB. Barry said the same was true.
