LBG Minutes – January 2015
Business Meeting

Welcome
• New people – Kim. Welcome!
• Cleanup – Matt, John and Chuck. Thank you!

Announcements
• The Lawrence Brewers Guild meetings are held to discuss new business and to learn about brewing beer and other beverages. If you are attending the meeting for social time, please take your talk outside of the building, so we can't hear you in the sanctuary. Please be considerate during the meetings. You are encouraged to bring your homebrew (or commercial beer if you don’t have homebrew) and a snack for sampling prior to the meetings.

• LBG stickers are on sale $1/each. LBG t-shirts are on sale for $10/each.

• If you have any LBG-related pictures or content appropriate for Facebook, the website or newsletter, please put those items in the LBG Facebook group or e-mail the content to lawrencebrewers@gmail.com.

New Business

The LBG Holiday Party was held on December 6th and deemed a success. 120 raffle tickets were handed out. W's should be reserved for next year.

The KC Biermeister homebrewing competition will be in February. Start brewing now to enter.

There are several beer related events happening around KC. New events are posted on the LBG Facebook page and website (http://www.lawrencebrewers.org/wp/) as they are announced.

Officer elections will be held tonight. Angelo’s term expires this year. All other officers have one year left on their terms. Members in good standing may vote tonight.

You will need to pay Frank at the time of purchase (not at time of delivery). You can subscribe to the grain buy feed on the forum to keep up with the latest messages. When you order, make sure you use the correct part numbers. Frank will order exactly what you request.
In addition to grain buys, Frank has a membership to the restaurant warehouse in Kansas City and an account with Foxx.

Orval is working on updating Praxair charges for 2015.

Barry Fitzgerald will have an exhibit at Wonderfair in downtown Lawrence on January 30 during Final Friday events.

Tasting
Tasting rules: Pour 2 ounces only during LBG tastings. This equates to approximately two fingers horizontally. Be aware to leave enough for everyone to have a taste.

This month’s tasting is Russian Imperial Stouts.
We had six beer selections. They were all delicious.

Next meeting: 7 p.m. Thursday, February 12th, Unitarian Fellowship, 1263 N. 1100 Road, Lawrence, KS 66047. The business meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Social time and/or the swap meet will be 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Remember to bring your homebrew and snacks.
