Brewfest Financials
Music options
$200 - no live music, use a playlist with sound system
$1,500 - 3 bands instead of 4
$2,000 - 4 bands like last year, cut budget in other areas

Discussion
Dale: do we like live music?
  • Overwhelming ‘yes’
Chuck: used to be brewfest, not music fest. We had a damn good time without live music. Music controversial in several years - family picnic versus brewfest.
    Live music adds a lot X 5
Camping is good, no driving back
Josh: beer was still focus but without live bands we would be losing out
Percentage of total cost? $5,500 total, $2,000, 2nd biggest expense after food
Frank: I’ve never once described brewfest as a festival for drinking beer. Friday night is member night, bring in professional breweries, comradery. Saturday is the day we bring friends & family to the lake to experience our hobby and have a good time.
Brick: one other option to consider, KKFI band auctions - bid on one of those
    John McClure: hybrid
Clint: discussion several years ago to make brewfest for members and have a separate event for a blow-out
Frank: it is hard for commercial breweries to come to us when we have a small audience compared to other festivals. If we want more commercial breweries we need to show marketing values for them
Dale: brewfest is coming up
Guy I don’t know: MOTION - cut to 3 bands
  • McClure: is this a fundraiser or party?
Peterson: don’t we need to hold back this year
McGovern: how many active members do we have right now?
Jon: About the same as last year….
    Clint: amend: include KKFI
    …: dollar cap $1500
John Bowden: is the point to make money or have fun?
MOTION CARRIES on visible hand vote
Treasurer’s Report - see slides for more detail

Courtney: re: competition budget - postage is missing. I delivered all the medal winners to various clubs. One envelope will be mailed. As we get bigger we will likely have more postage expenses.
