Presentation slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/ ... p=sharing

INTRODUCTIONS
  • Homebrew: Leigh brought her lavender saison and Lucy’s oatmeal cookie beer. Jon brought ciders. Ryan brought an NEIPA.
  • Guests/New Members: Tim and Erica Segraves; Steven Hughes
  • Cleanup Crew: Brian, Paul and Ryan
EVENTS
  • March Hoppy Hour at Merchants: Regular happy hour specials plus 10% off dinner bill with membership card. Members decided no need for a Hoppy Hour in July since the first Thursday is the Fourth of July.
  • Pints for Pets is scheduled for Saturday, May 11. Watch for more details from Clint. He’ll be asking for keg donations soon. Says it will be the last year. ;)
  • KC Nanofest is Saturday, May 18. Even if you don’t have a booth, it’s a fun festival to attend.
  • Tickets have been claimed for Parkville. If you’re donating a keg, get your beer descriptions to Sara/Duane ASAP.
  • Entry registration for the Big Brew Day Brew-Off opens at noon Saturday, March 16. Entries due by Wednesday, April 17. Only accepting 150 entries! Judging will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Free State Production Facility. Sign up to judge or steward at http://lawrencebrewers.org/competition. The discount code for LBG members will be LBGMEMBER2019. Anyone using this discount code who is not a member will forfeit the entry fee and will not have their beer judged. Do not share the discount code with anyone who is not a paid LBG member!
OFFICER REPORTS
Treasurer
  • $5,878.24 in funds -- slightly above where we were at this time last year
  • The Internet service cost might decrease with a website php update. Frank will look into this.
  • Jon still has swag for sale. Galen and Omara need to pay for Brewfest T-shirts.
Librarian
  • Lynette has updated the check-out form to include phone number/email.
  • There’s now a return dropbox -- no need to write anything down when you return a book. Just put it in the return box. Check-out period will be 6 weeks. After that, Lynette will contact you to see if you would like to renew the book or if you plan to return it.
  • Discussed creating a “wait list” for books. If the book is checked out but someone is on the wait list for it, it’s possible renewal would be limited.
  • Discussed what happens to people who have checked out a book for a year and have not returned it. Should they be responsible to pay for the book to replace it before they can renew their membership? Frank suggested a change to the bylaws to address this issue. Lynette and Ryan will work on an updated policy and will present it at the March meeting for a membership vote.
  • Lynette plans to expand the library offerings with other foodie/fermentation/etc. books.
FRESH ON THE FORUM
  • Check out the post -- viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4360 -- about a social brew day at Lawrence Creates Makerspace. Help pick the best date.
  • Sign up to bring a keg and side dish to Maifest.
