Seminar:
Andy Booth did a demo on how to can starter wort. Described the process and also described the advantages of making your own starters. He had a flask with bung and bubbler on display.
Spoke about pitching big and why it is important to have a high yeast count to kick start your fermentation.

Announcements:
Tower was shown for all to behold.

Barry Fitzgerald placed Editor?s choice in the BYO label competition. Congrats Barry!

Andy Mugs for Juggs fund raiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer. It?s 3-day 60-mile walk. They need to raise $2,400 minimum to be able to walk. Starts at 6pm. Food and brew will be there. Donations are not required. Band starts at 7, show at 6:30.

Sean announcement that the beer situation looked much better.

Sean wanted to know who?s brewed in the last year and who hasn?t, trying to get the noobs or the other members that haven?t brewed in a long time.
John stated that at any time he and Sean will host a brew day for people that are wanting to brew.

Sherry will be doing a sweet stout kit from N. brewer. Sean explained what was in the kits for the noobs to get an idea of what is in the kits.

Grain buy:
Andy sent out notice that he has a lot of black snakes in his barn for a reason, so come and pick up your grain before the mice get it.

Membership cards:
Be sure to email treasurer@lawrencebrewers.org (Joe) if you don?t have your membership card yet.

Financials:
$2,300 +- in the books.

Sunflower challenge:
It will be held at the Union Pacific Depot in Lawrence. November 3, 2007. Need stewards and judges to start volunteering.

BJCP:
Meet 2pm Sunday July 8th at John Monoghan?s to organize and go through the manuals and to get a feel of how man people are going to show up. During the meeting the will discuss the money breakdown and the split the sections up for study groups

Boulevard tour and roller derby:
Roller derby is a Hale arena. Participants will be responsible for their own tickets and all other $$. Guild will pay for transportation depending on # of people. Date is August 11th. T-bones is a backup plan if the roller derby doesn?t pan out.
Great taste of Midwest beer fest on same day.
John Monoghan wanted to split it up to 2 events. Jeff Jensen said the 11th wouldn?t work (according to Blvd rep).
Vote on paying for transportation. Ayes have it.

Brewfest:
The Brewfest book is almost done and will be going out for review. The Brewfest book is just basic documentation showing what committees are in charge of what

Tickets:
There will be 300 tickets total for sale. Comps tickets are taken from a separate pool.
Tickets are $25 each. To get your tickets you have to show up at the August meeting w/ cash. No tickets will be handed out with out being paid.
Online ticket reservation will be on like last year.
Everyone should be guaranteed 4 tickets, any unclaimed tickets from the first round will go back into the pool for another round.

Each member can donate up to 10 gallons for 2 tickets. Single memberships can donate 10 gallons for 2 tickets. Family membership can donate 20 gallons for 4 tickets.

A sign up list of duties will be created so all members will serve beer. Members will also be required to help with setup and breakdown, cleanup, and general policing of our guests.
