Seminar
Prez Sean Belden did a seminar on brewing tool that available and links for ones that are available via the net.
Tastybrew.com
Greenbayrackers.com
Thebrewingnetwork.com

Qbfrew software is free. Simple program to help you with your all grain recipes.
SUDS ? A Recipe tool that maintains recipes and show all styles. Outdated, hasn?t been updated in years.

For calculators, check out tastybrew.com, Sean did a quick walk through.

Spoke about the non-shareware applications and told the advantages of the cost software. The two 'standards' being used are Pro Mash and BeerSmith
Pro Mash- did a quick walk-trough of the app. No disadvantages other than it is ugly and hasn't been updated for a while. Does have a trail version that you can use to evaluate the application.
BeerSmith- did a quick wal-through of the app. No real disavantages other that it isn't a 'session style' application. You can't change a recipe for a single session without having to create a new recipe. The look is more of a Windows Explorer view application. (Added by Sean: You can do a brew log and it will track brew sessions for you.)

Some questions about water reports came up. Call you water department and they will send you one. You can add your specific water report into these applications and they also hold the water profiles of the origins of your specific recipe.

Tasting:
Tasting was Amber Ales.

Old Business:
Mead day is This Sunday (or last Sunday, depending on when I posted this). Sides are welcomed.

St Louis Trip. This is the weekend before Brewfest, leaving that Friday for Hop in the City. Schlafly brewery.
www.schlafly.com

Brewfest:
Tickets Tickets Tickets. Come and get your tickets!
Joe handed out the reserved tickets. Cash or check, you had to bring your dough.

Please bring your own pick-nick/cobra taps for soda.

Children and DD tickets can be purchased day of. Please bring cash.

Sean was adamant about not bringing bad beer. Repeat, Sean was very adamant about it

Music:
Spin Down
GCDC
DeWayne Bros
Truckstop Honeymoon
and as always, Lance will be walking around

logistics is good. Glass art work is almost done. Generator, refer truck, rent extra tables and trash cans.

Come like you are camping. Bring extra lights, batteries, tape, anything that you think could come in handy. Camping is camping, you never know what you might need.

New Business:
Maifest 2008
Joe will make reservations for Maifest next week.

Odds n Ends:
Chris and Mark doing clean up
Thanks!

Lupulin Threshold Shift
lupulin threshold shift \lu·pu·lin thresh·old shift\ n
1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough
