Seminar
Andy did a seminar on kegging your beer. We held the kegging demonstration after the meeting this month.

Tasting:
Tasting this month was Ciders.

Old Business:

BJCP
BJCP is on hiatus. Too many conflicts going on right now. Some of the members that attended were interested in trying to get in on the certification process.

Renaissance Festival Competition.
We will be at the Kansas City Ren Fest Oct 6 and 7th. It was stated that we need 4 times the glassware for the tasting, when we run out of glasses, we cannot allow any more tasting. Last year we ran out of glasses way before we ran out of brew.

Remember, we are not selling beer at Ren Fest, we are selling a commemorative glass and free samples along with the glass for people 21 years of age or older for $5.00.

It was raised that there will be $100 for first place. Shane wanted to have the money broken down into 3 places. This needs to be discussed more.

When you get to the Ren Fest, you can sign in as a LBG member at the VIP gate and you will get in as a guest for free. Please don?t abuse this by bringing too many people. We aren?t setting a limit so use your own discretion.
We are listed as ?Ale Tasting? on the event schedule for that weekend

Sunflower Challenge
Competition committee update. Sean wanted to put up a vote to postpone the competition. The consensus was that the competition seems to have been pushed back. Tom pointed out that the competition was listed on Brew-Monkey.com (http://www.brew-monkey.com/events/events.php)
The Sunflower Challenge was put to a vote and the competition has been pushed back to a date TBA.
Please contact the officers if you have any questions regarding the Sunflower Challenge.

BREWFEST
Brefest tickets are all sold out.

Logictics committee update from Jeff Jensen.
Jeff put out a call for trucks. We need some big items brought out (ice machine, horse troughs, tents, etc.). Shane offered up a truck, but John asked if his mini van could do it and it can. Thanks John!

Food committee update from Sean.
Food Schedule:
Tuesday Sept 18th is shopping day. Get anything that needs to be ordered updated on the forum no later than the 18th. (yes, that?s today, so contact Sean directly)

Wednesday 19th food committee prep meeting at Sean and Sherry?s. Go out and get the meat finished. It?s all about the meat.

Thursday 20th is smoke day. All the meat will be cooked and ready to go. Meat will be stored and brought out to the site and heated up for eating on Saturday.

Friday 21st, need help loading things up and getting them out to the site.
Members can get it around 5pm on Friday (or when Joe shows up w/ the key).
Everyone should plan on brining a side dish. Please sign up on the thread.

Saturday 22nd. Breakfast on Saturday for those that help set up on Friday night and camp out. Saturday morning will have sausage, eggs, burritos, salsa etc.
The meat will be getting warmed up in the morning and the meat hits the table at 1pm.

Comp tickets are on a list by the band. Contact either Joe or Jeff for people to add as guests for comp tickets. Send a private message over the Forum to either Jeff or Joe if you have any comp ticket questions.
Kids 12 to 20 years and designated drivers are $10, kids under 12 are free.

Beverage committee.
This year we are doing flights on the brews this year. We will put out the beer and every hour and half we will swap out all 16 beers at once. The untapped kegs will be stored in the refrigerated truck, with the next flight staged in troughs of ice behind the bar waiting to be swapped out. Once the 1.5 hour flight is over, the taps will be shut down while the 16 kegs are swapped out.
There will be commercial brew still available during this swap out and notification will be given before the taps are shut down.
Once a keg has been used in a flight, zip ties will be used to mark the used kegs.

Please post all Nitro beers in the forums so we know how many there are.

You must check in your beers with either Jeff Jensen or John Monghan. You must receive your glass(es) at the time you donate your kegs. Your glasses are your responsibility and there are no replacement glasses, so don?t break or lose them.

Entertainment updated from Joe. ?We are going to have fun?. ?Nuff said.

Zan has LBG cozies for sale. $3 each or for 4 for $10.

Treasures report
Almost $10,000.00 in the bank. Time to look into purchasing the Brewmobile ; )
