Hi, Intro

#1 Post by JamesonHuckaba » Sun May 04, 2008 11:43 am

Hi everyone -

I want to introduce myself.

I'm a bit of a beer nut (obviously).

I have a beer blog that I like to write on - www.beergenius.net

My second home, while in Lawrence, is 23rd Street Brewery. They probably know me a little too well there.

I study all sorts of things at KU (economics, marketing, english, accounting, and a stint in computer science). They haven't kicked me out yet.

I decided that the logical next step for beer appreciation is to get into homebrewing, with grander plans slightly further down the road.

Unfortunately, I'm in Iraq for the next year (doing computer stuff), which significantly puts a damper on the whole 'brewing' thing. So I decided to do the next best thing - become a sponge for brewing knowledge.

My reading list:

If you all have any suggested additions, please send them my way! I know that nothing can compare to actually brewing and learning, but reading about it seems to be the next-best thing.

As with many things, brewing is as much of an art as it is a science. But I don't need to say that to you all! Anyway, I might as well know as much as I can coming into it.

Hope to see you all around when I get back!

Our first long (and I do mean long) distance post.

Welcome to the board, Jameson.

Also check out Designing Great Beers

Another good board for information is the Green Board http://brewboard.com
