Renfest,Brewfest and Groupbrew

#1 Post by shane » Thu Jul 24, 2008 5:21 am

This is going to be our crazy brewoff for this year. the idea is to brew, in one day of brewing (@Andys) 120 gal to fill the 2 70 gal fermenters ! This is to take care of the beer needs for renfest and to help the members that dont have the means/ways to get beer to Brewfest. The short of it is that we need members to help .
There will be two recipes, hoppy wheat and a bitter. Ive already got the malts, hops ,yeast taken care of. The club has fronted the money for this ,so if you hop on to help brew fo brewfest you will pay the club back for your 5gal. the majority will go to renfest for the club.

So far as it looks , Andy and Russel will do a recipe and myself and John M. will be doing the other but we need some more bodies so if you R a member and want to hop on to get some beer made here it is ! As always more to come .......................cheers Shane VP

I'll get my membership in order :D Yes I'll be there! I think one element that should be considered is who is going to plan food for this deal? Sucks to get to where everyone is settled into a brew day and the question starts flying around...Whats for lunch? My suggestion is not to make it anything big just planned.

Lupulin Threshold Shift
lupulin threshold shift \lu·pu·lin thresh·old shift\ n
1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

This is what I mean by opportunity favors the prepared mind. While driving into KC the other day, last Thursday, I spyed an orange thing in the median. As I passed by I said to my self (without moving my lips) hey a round Gott cooler should I stop and back up or check it out on the way back. Betting on there not being any other scroungers at that time of day I continued to KC to drop off my samples. On the return trip home I slowed down approaching where I remembered seeing the thing. I love trucks, pulled off into the median to recon the damage the cooler must of sustained after flying off it's truck. Guess what, the interior was unblemished. Guess what else. I have another false bottom and weldless assembly(scrounged of course). So why am I telling this story?? I mnow have up to 20 gallons of mash tun that will participate in this event. F'n A Buddy. :hello1: :hello1: :hello1: :walk:
