Happy Birthday LBG

#1 Post by Blktre » Sat Jan 17, 2009 9:26 am

I propose a LBG Birthday Party. If the old timers can remember the approximate month (Years of drinkings always deteriorates the memory, its not all blamed on being Old) I say lets party up. The first one would require a few years of making up for years past, so don't be surprised if a few strippers show up wearing scantly items made of hops!

So what you think?

1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

I'll let you take on the task of talking my wife into attending (or letting me attend) a party as described above!!!

If we want a spring date to celebrate, the LBG articles of incorporation were filed with the state on 3/26/1996.

March twenty six is only 9 days after st. Patrick's day... there is no way Monhan will be in any shape that soon.

I'll be alright so long as some jackass doesn't try to take my seat at the bar on Paddy's day, causing me to beat him senseless and in turn get thrown in jail, be unable to post bail and as a result find myself unable to attend the party.
Cheers!

Just as an FYI, spring break at KU is March 16-22.
I only mention this, because I might be away and would hate to miss this party.

Ok, sounds like there is some interest. I will look at some dates and go from there. Once we get that figured out, then we can decide where to do this. I don't mind hosting if I have the room for all you crazy people.

I think it's a grand idea. I agree with Brother Bill that we started gathering in mid-summer 1995, but a spring party might not be bad, either.

Monaghan - were you even legal in 95? I know I started brewing when I was 20. Got tired of having my fake taken away.

No Sir I was still in HS. I have only been brewing for about 5 years now.
Cheers!
