I'm certainly open to learning more about the subject, and we definitely have some knowledge to tap in the guild. A seminar and tasting would be great.

Okay so I'd say there is a good amount of interest in a tasting. I'm thinking we keep the number between 10-12 max. That's about as many people as anyone would want to host and this way, we won't need more than two 750ml bottles of any beer. I can make a tasting schedule, post it here and everyone can give me their feedback. I'll also post a sign up list with the first 12 people in this post. If you drop out or can't make it, the next person gets bumped up. More to come.

I like the way you are running this Lee. Just like the barrel brewing. Keeps things simple and fair.

I would be happy to donate ample quanity of the imperial red we barrel brewed at Andy's some time ago. I bottled my 5 gallon batch and it has finally soured based on my last sample. While very interesting, I'll never consume it all. I can always bring it with me to work and drop it off at the necessary location.
Enjoy!

You don't want to consume it all since you have an excess. You will want to do a vertical tasting 10 years from now.
Have Fun!

Andy,
Do you have an anniversary to celebrate your tasting?
Have Fun!

Including myself we have the following people interested:

Chris
Andy
John M
Jason
Sean
Rob
Ellen
Sam
Jim
Jeff
Kollman (first name?)
Matt
Bill
Phil
Wanda
Devin

If we keep the number at 12, then the first eleven people on this list will get dibs on attending the tasting. If you can't attend, please post here and the next person will get moved up the list. I think we need a minimum of 5 people to make the tastings feasible. Thanks

Next step, I've been throwing around ideas for the first tasting. My idea is that we do Brett beers. Brett can be a difficult thing to first identify because it produces so many flavor compounds. I have some commercial examples in mind, but if anyone would like to share something, please let me know. Any thoughts on this?

Ive got 10g of a 5yr old Brett Beer still in 2ndry (carboy with oak dowel). I will keg it up and sample it and see if its worth adding to the fray. It showed earlier lots of Brett character but the sourness was subdued.

Okay, we're going with brett beers for the first tasting. Let's start throwing around some dates. The evening of the 28th is a good day for me, so let's start there. I'll also volunteer to host this one. If you are interested and can attend that day please post in this thread. This is just something to get us started, we are remaining flexible at this point. Thanks
