Yeast Propagation

#1 Post by JMcG » Mon May 20, 2013 5:00 pm

As requested, I am again posting the link to the excellent article written by Dr. MB Raines for the Maltose Falcons site.
This material has been referenced here previously by myself and others.
It does a great job of laying out in a relatively brief and well-organized article the methods of growing yeast and preparing starters for your brews. It also discusses (briefly) methods of storing/maintaining a yeast bank. If you are interested in the subject this will provide most all of the knowledge you need to get started. Its like the "Cliff's Notes" for Yeast.
Several others from this guild have experience in these matters, as well, and if questions about techniques arise I hope we can all contribute clarifications and suggestions.
