New Equipment

#1 Post by Rob Martin » Fri Feb 24, 2012 6:44 pm

I'm thinking this needs to be my next piece of equipment. Can't decide if it's brewing equipment or disc golf equipment.

You put one of these in it.

That would certainly get me to practice my short game more, if I had one of those in the back yard and I actually played. Hell, it might actually get me interested in the sport if there were a functional keg at every hole.

Still, you'd have to figure out a way to keep the keg and line cool, (and use CO2, rather than a hand pump), or you'd just be pumping foam and oxygenating your keg.

It really would make putting in your backyard totally rule. Heck, even if it weren't functional, and you were just making excellent use of recycled keg parts, it would be slick. Make it functional and you're bordering on LEGENDARY.

I got it from a forum I read on discgolfcourse.com. The OP said:
BTW. I forgot to add that this thing really dispensed beer. There's a pony keg at the base of it.

Keeping the line cool for the length of the pole shouldn't be too hard -- just put some cheap hot water pipe insulation inside before running the lines. And I suppose you could just use a CO2-cartridge dispenser for your serving pressure. That would eliminate the need for the hand pump on the top.

So then, yeah, just sit your keg in some ice next to the pole, and you're good to go.

I thought the Frolf fad passed with the 90's.

Or not. I just got back from a game - what better way to get out of the office to enjoy days like today? My office-mates and I have a regular Tuesday morning game - nice way to start the day off right. ;)

That said, coming back to work half-sauced from having a basket like the one above might be an issue... ;)

Though I'm pretty sure the name "frolf" passed with the 90's....

Agreed - I haven't heard it called that in a while. ;)
