Danstar BRY-97 American West Coast Dry

#1 Post by Blktre » Tue Sep 04, 2012 2:22 pm

Im going to try this in a few different styles. Seems like it has some promise and would work better than US05 since it wont throw diacetyl and flocc's better. Rumor says its similar to Pacman. Anybody want to order some with me?

I'd be curious to try it out. How soon are you planning to order?

I'm going to need to brew again pretty quickly after Brewfest, so put me down for one packet. This is dry yeast, yes?

Yes, its dry. This should be better than US05 I would think.

Ok. I will have him order at least a doz paks if not more. Im not fronting this venture so make sure those that want this yeast go in and pay for it so maybe he can start having it on hand.

Just so I'm sure I follow... you're not doing a special order that needs to be paid for in advance. He's just going to order a bunch and we can go pick it up whenever? Or do we need to go get it right away? A special trip for yeast is unlikely for me, but I could pick it up before the meeting.

Im going to tell him if they order so many that they could sell them easily because we there is a lot of interest in it.

Im not setting this up as a bulk buy. See what he says.

Good news. JWL will have this yeast in next Thursday or Friday. He is ordering around 15 packs. Those expressing interest please go get the yeast. He said he can keep some on hand if we do. This strain has excellent potential.
