Re: Immersion fermentation chiller
Its just a peltier cooler. Tech savvy homebrewers have tried this themselves over the years. Didn't seem to take off then I doubt it will now. Seems like if I remember correctly they just were not powerful or efficient enough. Wish I still had those links to those to go back and look at them again.usdtc00 wrote:Interesting idea for those without the space for a temperature controlled fermentation area.

Lupulin Threshold Shift
lupulin threshold shift \lu·pu·lin thresh·old shift\ n
1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

Yeah...for $300, it seems like a expensive boondoggle; it is a peltier cooler indeed. For my two cents, a carboy is only slightly smaller, footprint-wise, than a small, used college fridge with a temp controller and the fridge is cheaper.
