What is it?

A friend picked up this keg thinking I'd find it useful. It looks like a firkin but the ports are in the wrong locations. It's made by Firestone and says Anheuser Busch... anyone know what this is?

It's a really old school commercial keg before the move to the modern sanke topped ones.
Looks like this is a Golden Gate keg.

23rd Street just stopped using some similar to this, bunged with a sanke top, not that long ago. You can ask Tucker all about it.

Oh yeah! I remember those from way, way back. In college (late '70s) I ended up in possession of a hand-pump tap for that kind of keg. If I still had it, I'd give it to you, but it's been lost for decades.

Of course, it's been nearly that long since I've seen one like that.
