Score!
So Mum and Dad went to Chicago to visit family after Jesus' B-day and brought me back some cooool presents!
Three Floyds:
Dreadnaught IPA (Godly IPA!)
Alpha Klaus Christmas Porter (Excited to try this one)
Bear Republic:
Hop Rod Rye (My favorite commercial Rye IPA)
Southern Tier:
Un*Earthly IPA (No idea what to expect from this)
De Ranke:
Kriek De Ranke (I have heard things....)
St Bernardus:
Abt 12 (Belgian Abbey that has had really good marks)
Goose Island:
Bourbon County Brand Stout (This beer is $20/4 pack. I feel dirty knowing that my dad paid that, but it has excellent reviews, and I look forward to laying it down for a long time)
Happy New Year to me!.......oh, and to you too.

22 ounce bottle served in my Duvel tulip.
Pours a crystal clear brilliant amber with a dense creamy resinous head. The aroma is a fabulous balance of citrus and earthy hops and sweet malt. The flavor features a dump truck of hops. Damn. Very aggressively bitter. Citrus and earthy notes, just as the aroma. Sweet malts work through, as does the alcohol. At 11% the alcohol is apparent, but not doesn?t come off as hot. Slick over the tongue. A welcome beer in my glass any day.

Lupulin Threshold Shift
lupulin threshold shift \lu·pu·lin thresh·old shift\ n
1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

Ask and you shall receive. The Kriek De Ranke didn't make it through New Year's eve. Excellent beer. I highly recommend it.Blktre wrote:This thread is usless w/o pics!
