Feedback on Professional Brewing Education & Courses

#1 Post by LogJam » Wed Jan 12, 2011 10:03 pm

I am forwarding my brewing knowledge and abilities, in order to pursue a career in the craft brewing industry, by way of a professional brewing program. I am currently researching the numerous courses and programs available in the US and abroad. Below are a few that have amassed through internet research, care of the Brewers Association:

American Brewers Guild (Distance Learning)
Brewlab (UK)
Siebel Institute/Doemens Academy (World Brewing Academy)
Master Brewers Association of the Americas
UC Davis Extension/Heriot-Watt University
VLB (Berlin)

I'm still looking over course catalogs and the usual promo literature these organizations provide to prospective students, but thoughts and opinions of fellow Guild Members are much appreciated. If anyone can offer feedback, either from personal experience (attended, grad/alum, etc.) or knows an individual(s) that attended any of the institutes/schools/programs/seminars, I would be a most grateful and willing listener. Also, if I have excluded any from the list above, please offer up suggestions to add another institution to the list.

Thank you. See everyone tomorrow evening!
