Wine bottles

I'm planning to make some wine and mead and am looking for some 750mL wine bottles, preferably without labels. Thanks!

I work with a bunch of wine drinkers, I can ask around for you here.

How many do you want? You will have to clean them.

We have a new empty wine bottle in our curb-side recycling container each morning. The labels are still on them, but our nifty dual bottle washer (oh yeah baby) leaves the insides very clean. You are welcome to as many as you'd like, if interested.

Ive got a few cases with labels ill give you for free. Labels are easy to remove actually with a short soak. Let me know or else they are headed to the recycle center.

I am also interested in obtaining any extra wine bottles that anyone plans to recycle. Labels are no problem.

For what it's worth, when I'm in need of wine bottles I make a run to the Wal-Mart recycling center. Caution should be used but usually the bins are full enough that I can easily reach the number of bottles I need.

For cleaning and de-labeling, I soak first in b-brite solution which usually takes off the labels, visually inspect then run them through the dishwasher on heat dry and finally sanitize in an Iodophor solution. Bottling in the kitchen is handy as I use the dishwasher rack to drain bottles until I am ready to fill.

I thought about doing that but figured that Wal-mart might not appreciate me diving into their dumpsters too much. Maybe if I wait around long enough I can catch people before they place them in the bin.

I guess it is worth a shot for some free bottles.

My wife and I will be attending the June Guild meeting and look forward to meeting everyone we don't already know.

If you have some bottles you can share, please bring them along to the meet. I need about 30 bottles for an upcoming brew project.
