Free State Beer

#1 Post by Swoosh » Sun Aug 17, 2008 7:36 pm

Anyone want to help me drink up some Free State Beer?

I have a 5g keg of Ad Astra Ale until Wednesday. There is still a lot left and I would hate to see it go to waste.

PM me or call 393-4392 if interested.

Actually, thinking about it some more last night. Shouldn't I be able to transfer the beer to one of my own kegs?

Anyone have any tips?

Purge one of your kegs with CO2, and pressurize it to 15lbs or so.
Attatch 2 liquid connectors to a piece of hose to make a transfer tube.
Connect gas to the Freestate keg and set the reg to 15lbs or so.
Connect the transfer hose to both kegs, and transfer the beer over by slowly burping (releasing pressure) the empty keg.
Cheers!

Thanks John! I figured it could be done but I have never been tasked with having to do it before. This should be a good learning experience for me.

Does anyone happen to have an extra liquid connector that I could borrow either tonight or tomorrow to transfer this beer?

If I can find one I should be all set!

You can reach me at 393-4392.

thanks,
Andrew C.
